   Learning outcomes:  
 
Students will attain the following knowledge and skills after the completion of this programme:

enable students to meet the local, regional, national and international needs for professionals with advanced knowledge of the field of Enterprise Resource Planning.

provide a critical understanding of the processes and techniques as well as the knowledge and technical skills needed as a professional Enterprise Resource Planning manager.

develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of students so that they can contribute critically at a high level to the creation and adoption of a systematic, professional and quality approach to Enterprise Resource Planning management.

enable students to undertake an in depth and professional role within the field of Enterprise Resource Planning.

 
 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
The entry requirement for the programme is:
1. A degree in computing or IT discipline and at the start of the programme normally in full or part time employment that has an IT focus
2. Candidates without a degree in a management with good knowledge or practical experience of computing are also encouraged to apply
3. ERP consultants with at least 2 full life cycle implementations will be exempted from the professional training. However, the students need to undertake the assessments (moderated by University of Sunderland, UK) at this stage to be awarded the exemption.
 
     
 
COURSE SYLLABUS/CONTENT
Four core module – 60 credits (15 credits each module)
Research Ethical Professional and Legal Issues
Enterprise Wide Integration within Organization
Change Management
Process Mapping
ERP PROFESSIONAL TRAINING – 60 credits
SAP certified in any of the module (or) Oracle certified in any of the module (or) JD Edwards (or) related ERP Professional Training. ERP consultants with at least 2 full life cycle implementations will be exempted from the professional training. However, the students need to undertake the assessments (moderated by University of Sunderland, UK) at this stage to be awarded the exemption).
PROJECT - 60 credits
 
     
 
1 Core module - Research Ethical Professional and Legal Issues    
Nature of research, types of research, research process and its management, ethical issues in research, Outlining research problems and developing research questions.
Research methods, qualitative and quantitative approaches. Literature surveys and critical analysis and evaluation of sources.

Data collection and data analysis (including: survey and questionnaire design, experimental design, use of control groups), Critical evaluation and appraisal of published work and data sets.

Recognition of appropriate and inappropriate use of approaches and statistics.
Writing a technical paper, the publication process, reviews and the role of the reviewer.
The use of peer review. Presenting work orally or by other appropriate means. Structuring a research report. Professional, ethical and legal issues that relate to the relevant programme of study.
 
2 Core module - Enterprise Wide Integration within Organization    
Understanding of process flows, process integration. Strategic and operational Planning and related financial aspects, integrated flow of planned data to ensure same base of planning across enterprise, sales and operational planning and as well as Financial and Human Resource Planning, planning using different tools, operational flow of data across the enterprise, suitable audit trails for data tracking, sufficient security measures to ensure misuse of the enterprise system, data and hence business critical information, comparisons of plan versus actual figures and analyze variances and its causes, remedial action for the variances using standard tools / reporting functions.  
3 Core module - Change Management    

Understanding of change management concepts, tools used in change management, methodology adopted to manage change and followed by various industry tracks offering a case study and finally allowing the students to present the case studies on their respective industry tracks.

   
4 Core module - Process Mapping    
Understanding of process mapping concepts, as-is study approach used, to-be mapping approach and followed by gap analysis. The student groups prepare blueprint and they would be allowed to do a presentation on the same.  
5 Enterprise Resource Planning Professional Training    

Students have the option to choose the Enterprise Resource Planning Professional Training based on their interest/background. Students can choose any Enterprise Resource Planning like SAP, Oracle, People Soft, JD Edwards etc., and the specializations available are Financials, Human Resource, Plant Maintenance, Sales & Distribution, Supply Chain Management etc.
